BaseRay mounting

I have 2 questions regarding a Burnham Baseray cast iron baseboard radiator. First, what is the recommended method of fixing it to a wall. The product has no predrilled holes for fasteners. Do you just rely on the weight of it to keep it in place? Second question is what is the recommended method for painting it. It is stock battleship gray. Can it be sprayed with a suitable enamel (krylon)? Tried contacting Burnham but they don't seem to want to respond to emails or phone messages.

should be secured to the wall with screws and square washers that are normally provided from the distributor. The gray primer is latex based and you should use a high quality oil-based gloss or semigloss paint or solvent based enamel if you desire to paint it. The 9A BaseRay Installation Manual is downloadable from our web site at the link below in .pdf format. Not sure who you tried to e-mail or left messages for but normally they respond fairly quick. Hope this helps.

    Painting

I painted my 3 new BaseRays with Krylon gloss white spraypaint. They looked great....until they started getting hot water through them. The paint (not sure if it was the Krylon or the gray primer, my money is on the Krylon) started stinking something rank as soon as the radiators were pressed into duty. In the three weeks that they have been heating, the paint has yellowed, but at least you can't smell them anymore.
