Subject: Steam boiler pipe insulation.

First of all if I am imposing on someone else's thread let me apologize. I have not figured out how to start a new thread in the Round Table. I have questions on Steam boiler pipe insulation. My boiler has 2" inch and 1 1/2 pipes. There are a number of valves, joints and couplings that are larger than the 2" and the 1 1/2" pipes. Are there insulations that will cover these larger unions? what size should I ask for when ordering insulation for these larger unions, joints, couplings? And where could I order these from? Thank you

    pipe insulation

i use standard fiberglass stuff for all the straight stuff and usually for unions and straight fittings i just get a length of larger pipe insulation like say 4 stuff for a 2 1/2 union they make covers and stuff for tee and elbows but lately i just use 2 duct wrap and wrap my fitting and then staple them with a insulation staple gun the 90 and tee cover rarely are correct and really don't hold to much insulation hope i've been of some help good luck
