Steam boiler pipe insulation

I have 2 inch pipes and 11/2" pipes leading to/from my boiler with a number of valves, joints and unions that are larger than the 2" and 11/2" pipes attached to the boiler. Where can I get and what size fiberglass insulation do I need to cover the valves, joints and unions? Must I insulate the pipes that are attached near the boiler?

Stick Tight
Mix up a bag of StickTight and pack the fittings and valves . You need to insulate the the header or supply near boiler piping. The return does not need any insulation...0 -
Don't use any kind of foam. Everyone told me it melts. This one old guys at the plumber's supply store said his was special, and wouldn't. It didn't really melt, but it's taken a beating these past few days, and I'm glad I only bought one piece!
