in the thermostat. Usually it needs to be set at least at the same current as the ciruit it is controlling. Since you mentioned radiators, it often is best to set it fairly high for long burner cycles, as long as the temperature remains even in the space. On single zone (one thermostat) radiator systems with properly sized boilers, I usually set the anticipator to cycle the boiler about once per hour.

I have a boiler, it's just been serviced. It is an old weil mclain. a new damper, new relay. When i turn it on bout 70 degrees, it kicks on for a few minutes then shuts down. the cast iron radiators don't get hot or barely lukewarm..........any suggestions? What should i ask the guy who fixed it?0 -
Have the temp. setting on aquastat checked, may be too low

Circulator might be bad
I just fixed one of these- very little heat in the radiators, some didn't heat at all. We found a bad circulator and installed the new one so as to Pump Away. They all work great now.
