Riello Post Purge controller status

Bruce,

FYI, we were granted UL approval on the "new" post purge relay about a week and a half ago. It is called the AL 1009 fan off delay. It is manufactured by ICM, a very respected manufacture of circuit boards (out of Syracuse, NY I believe), for many in the industry.

This past week, I had the opportunity to read our Engineering report, from Italy's blessing of the control. The tests RBL put the new relay through were incredible. This is a very basic board, so not as sensitive as the previous boards. It passed Italy's very stringent tests with flying colors.

Eventually, Italy will have a control box with Post Purge in it, they are just taking time to ensure we don't come out with multiple versions. The whole industry has suffered in this respect, and being we have done so well with the 530 SE control box, we want to make sure it is right.

Anyway, I hope this helped (I must say, this is my first posting here. Alan Mercurio told me about this posting), you should see our control on the street very shortly.

The OEM boiler manufactures always double check anything, and that is good. So once Buderus gives it's blessing, we're good to go, on their end.

Other OEM's have AL 1009 samples, so we are moving forward with all of the OEM's using the BF burners.

Thank you all for you're patience on this matter. Have a good day.

Does anyone know anything about the new post purge controller Riello is putting together for the BF3? I have heard Buderus is checking these out now...my installer said this is what he heard.

I'm impressed that Buderus is checking these things out themselves...I assume Riello gave them the "go" but Buderus is double checking.

That really impresses me about Buderus.

    Is it true?

I'm really not sure exactly whats up, but.......

know that they are in the process of getting proper approval for the new control, for the BF burners.
There was the big recall problem with the post purge not shutting off a few years ago, then I heard someone say that Reillo (or Buderus?) did not have proper UL approval, for the burners. Don't know if its all of the Reillo BF burners, or just the BF that they paint blue for Buderus.

I would also like to know the statis of this as I really liked the Buderus BF package. Nice and quiet. Anyone know more?

    i talked w/

the local rep. about this issue...Buderus has gotten "burned" about this issue 2 or 3 times....riello says all set no problems w/ post purge ...then come to find out it's not. I can see why they are being cautious.I just use the Carlin EZ-1 and it's all set. kpc

The AL1009 control is at UL,

the literature is done and the new 24 volt relay, AL1008, will follow. Hopefully within a few weeks. RIELLO should be informing their reps and wholesalers very soon of availability. A little bird told me all of this, so don't quote me, okay??? :-)

Thanks for the update! And syracuse is just up the road from me about an hour!

I sure don't like the idea of being out of town for a week this winter to return to a frozen radiant system...LOL. OUCH.

Who'd even be responsible in that case anyways? OUCH.

    wouldn't matter...I'd be screwed...big time.
