    Plumbing Help

I know this board is mostly wetheads but I wondered if anyone here has every installed these type of fixtures. Our company is doing a large state job and we have about 50 or so,Willoughby ETW-1490-FM-FA floor mounted, wall outlet security water closets to rough in. Has anyone had experience setting up the SWVA fittings for these water closets? We have to rough them in an inaccessable chase wall, the cut sheets for this fixtures say that they can be installed in this type of chase, but I would like to see
if I could find someone that has put these in the past to see if there are any helpful hints for roughing in the underground piping. There is also a security lav that is installed in every restroom. They are all set up
for one watercloset, one lav. Thanks in advance

Never heard of that Brand Walt, and I did a lot of that type of

work. Can you give us more info or a wesite to check out? I'll tell you this. Anytime I had to rough out for odd or new type fixtures, I insisted on having at least one prototype on site, to see for myself what would work what wouldn't. mad dog

    Scary! huh!

You must have the exact layout of the building. Hopefully the foundations have been laid. then, useing string and stakes lay out your waste lines. Dig in and lay out the risers. At this point, perhaps the building contractor has a laser to find the exact floor level with. Care to be exact is worth the trouble later. Follow your cut sheets and set it up. String will find walls and stakes will find points along that wall. measuring many times before the concrete floor goes in is a must! A skid steer "bob cat" will destroy your work! It may be that you can work from 'grid lines' off the blue prints, to use and fine tune you measurements. There is no 'shortcut' Do not scale the prints. you have to use the actual measurements. It is easier than first percieved. Good luck

    mock-up

Walt, you may want to see if the contract documents are going to require the G.C. to build a mock-up cell, similar to a brick sample. I have been on projects where they do this on site but not within the building to verify all security measures have been met,,,,,,,,,,this will allow you to check rough-ins & possibly build jigs to use in maintaing consistant layout,,,,,,,,,,,

    More info

Here is the web-site address http://www.willoughby-ind.com/ for the specific fixtures. We are laying out all our underground according to the arch. floor plans. The problem we have is that we have a small inaccessable chase behind each water closet/lav. This WC is designed to be installed in an in-accessable chase, you can order it (for an extra cost) with a flange, similar to a urinal flange or the rep said that he can have a small access made into the side of the WC so you tighten the no-hub band that would be flush with the wall? It will be hard to install and tighten this band through this access panel, I am assuming. I am asking because I was hoping someone has had experience roughing in these floor mounted rear outlet type of fixtures. The unit is also configured with a top spud flush valve that ties into a wall box. The plans show a 4" cast iron waste line that stubs up in the chase wall for each WC/LAV and then we install a 4x3 tee, or cross, one side picks up the WC, one arm picks up the lav & 2" vent. Thanks for the posts!

    steam returns

I am removing 1 wet return (return has 2 returns from 2 mains), I want to make 1 dry return from both mains. Can I make a short wet loop with both returns to 1 dry return?
    How can I do it?
