Vapor/Vacuum Arco system follow up

to see if steam is getting thru to the dry return. If so, you need to reset their orifices to a smaller size. If not, open the orifices on the sluggish radiators slightly. Continue these slight adjustments until all radiators heat up to about 80% of their capacity. This way, no steam gets into the return- just like the Dead Men intended.

    Vapor/vacuum Arco system follow up

Some time back asked about an Arco vacuum system with all the rads not getting hot.Steamhead suggested replacing the ventrite#6 with a Gorton #2. The only thing I could get my hands on in this area was a Hoffman 75,so I put that on.
Now all the rads on the second floor get hot but some on the 1st don't get hot all the way acrossand the ones that do take a long time.
I'm thinking I should check the orfice holes in all the 1st floor rads as one time last year the whole system filled with water.
i'm a kinda scared to try flushing the whole system, might open pandoras box.
Any replies are greatly appreciated,I LOVE working on this old stuff.
