amtrol boiler mate wiring

I have a Amtrol boiler mate wired into a HW system, that has four zone vlaves, three for heat and one for the the boiler mate. The boiler mate model wh-7p has its own circulator. The aquastat is a HW8184a and it has a chattering relay and needs replacement. I am think of using a 8148a and was wondering if I need to have a zone valve controlling the boiler mate circulator. I looked at my wiring diagrams and can not find one showing a boilermate model wh-7p being used with a taco zone valve. Any suggestions where I can find this or any other information on this subject, thanks.

A little confused!
Do you have both a zone valve and circulator on this BoilerMate? The reason there is no diagram for a zone valve is because like most Indirect Heater manufacturers, Amtrol would prefer you didn't use a zone valve. There is way too much restriction through them for proper flow through the coil. The BoilerMate has it's own relay and pump and can be wired directly to any oil or gas boiler with ease. I'm also confused with the aquastat you are changing. Is this the boiler aquastat relay? That would normally be an L8148A Honeywell.

I am confused also, this is a job I took over because the other contractor was not licensed and did not install the system to code or get a permit, so I am helping out the homeowner. There is a circulator and zone valve for the boiler mate heating loop, and the system has a triple aquastat. I would like to set up the system right and minimize thermal shock when the four zones call for heat.
Any suggestions are appreciated.0 -

Not that I had to say that.
The Amtrol has its own relay and do's not need a zone valve. I can't see how changing the control will help your problem. You need to remove the Amtrol circulator from the zone valve. If the boiler is large and do's not want to be cold start then keep a minimum boiler temp of say 110 on the low end of the trple aquastat.

I would remove
the zone valve on the piping to the indirect and utilize the pump that is on the boiler supply to the BoilerMate. Be sure that the indirect supply and return connect to the boiler independant of the system pump that is servicing the zone valves and that you use a flow check. Depending on whether you have the WH7P with the standard temperature dial or with the electronic Smart Control, the wiring may differ. If this is an oil-fired boiler with preexisting tankless heater (which I presume it is), you will wire the BoilerMate per instructions for the boiler control you are using. If you don't have the manual, it is probably obtainable on the Amtrol web site or by calling them at (401)884-6300. Hope this helps.

I did wire it so that the zone valve is out of the loop and will intall a flow check valve tommorrow, thanks.0
