Gas Conversions

that most of our customers who want their boilers replaced have a knee-jerk "switch to gas" reaction. Some have had bad experiences with oil companies and others are just doing what's fashionable.

I always give the customer both sides of the story, and tell them we'll put in whatever fuel they want. Some stay with oil as a result.

    Gas Conversions

Most of the pics posted here of oil boilers are the "before" and the "after" is usually gas. Are these conversions customer or contractor driven? Or both?

    conversions

all of the conversion i get get are because of tank issues the last one which i posted was a tank issue and boiler issue and i'm glad the tank was original to the home conversion from coal and i've yet to see so much sludge in a indoor 275 oil line off the bottom and no filter and compression fittings on the tank the burner ran fine even with about 6 inch of thick sludge in it the only factor i see isn conversions bad tanks and they have gas for appliances in the house but i will say gas custermers that where oil user do miss the quicker service they recieve from the oil co. the public ulities don't respond as quick and won't do water side and steam system related promblems plus on the larger homes the ho spends less coin on there oil bills then if they had natural gas even seen conversion where the new gas system end costing more to run then the old oil equipment some times converting doesn't end with cheaper fuel bills
