Back in '96 when I was self employed I did a modular home development. Instead of electric heat we did oil fired hot water. I did 9 or 10 of the first homes on the street.

Today I went to look at a job there, the H.O. is finishing the 2nd floor of his cape cod. What a pleasure it was to see my work from six or seven years ago. I work on some of the most ill begotten systems man has seen. It was good to see my simple , single zone boiler. Pumping away, spiro-vent, everything straight , plumb, and level. The HO insulated all the pipes in the basement. Neat and clean.

I left fittings and plugs to add the next zones. I labeled all the drops from the 2nd floor. I wish I could follow my self more often. I usually have to add on to some hacked in abortion.

Well , if I don't toot my own horn nobody else will.

just reading a post about hot water unit heaters....

and reminded me of the ole days, built a moderate sized duplex (brick ranch) with hot water BB and units hangin in the garages way back in '93-'94 perhaps, little before me and Dan in the basement but i did manage to get a by-pass installed as recommended by the rep. Had more energy back then i remember painting panels and oil tanks to match (I'm thinkin' little bunny rabbit green)The spiro-vent was hard to get but I insisted. Also I burnt out a zone valve even though I knew better at the time (40$ felt like a weeks profit back then)WOW!!
