National Plumbing Code
Is a REALLY good book.
It's reasonably easy to understand in most sections and while not "the" code in most states, I believe that all other plumbing codes (generally MUCH more detail- and material-oriented) must comply.
Since it is based more on theory than actual application even a years-old used copy will be nearly (if not completely) identical to the latest printing.
It acknowledges its own age, essentially saying that while materials and details may change, the underlying hydraulic principles are the TRUE laws that govern. The later portions of the book are DEEP hydraulic theory that makes for good study when sitting on its' primary reason for being.0 -
