How did you like the show? The seminars? What could be done to make it better?

    Show was...

...great. At least the first two days. It was good to see you and many others.

I am just wondering when you stubborn germans (I can say that) will finally talk about your wonderful and well designed products, rather than slamming someone elses?? Where is the professionalism there?

Make a long story short, You Guys worry too much!!!

    Mike ;)

It was a lot smaller than I thought it would be.

    enjoyed

it very much. Of the seminars I attended I realized I need more. They seemed to be more fluff than substance. Not a complaint really just a realization for me. Even I need the basic pump once in while.

I've got to get to Viesmann back east... the sooner the better.

Our biggest disapointment was in the plumbing area...some big names missing.

Not to start anything but we did join the RPA. Look to see if we can have any impact there while living free in the middle of nowhere(well not quite that far only 8 hours from denver).

Pual as always enjoyed your passion. Thanks

    slow

Very slow. Awful in fact. No turnout what-so-ever. The mornings looked promising, the afternoons were completely dead. Being an exibitor, we were letting people go throughout the day because we didn't need them there. In the afternoons there were more exibiters roaming the floors than attendees. Many stands packed up early each night.

    Very disapointed.

    Most exhibitors...

seemed very disappointed in the turnout. You're not alone.

    Shorten it

I believe there are too many distractions in a town like Vegas and there is too much time to languish. I had a Friday a.m. seminar and less than half of the people who signed up bothered to show up. Many people had already left by Friday or, like me, were burned out. ISH-NA should give serious consideration to shortening the show by one day and perhaps offering a special hotel rate for the last night, which would encourage people to do most of their partying after the show closes. Just a thought.

    maybe...

...I am thinking, if it wasn't in October, it may have been better. We are now right in the beginning of the heating season and I felt that we could have done much better if the show would have been in September. It's just not easy for many to get away this time of year. What do you guys think?

I like the idea behind it an am supporting Messe Frankfurt. It is great to see so many seminars there. Without those, things could have been worse. Lets see what it will be like in Boston. I am not sure if the numbers are correct, but I heard someone make reference to approximately 12000 attendees, which should be up by about 2000 from last year. This is if they are counting the registrations and not every time a badge was scanned by the people at the doors.

I keep thinking the better heating shows would be more to the north. Shows in the south don't seem to do much for our industry, unless you're into plumbing. I have heard a couple of exhibitors talk about avoiding ASHRAE next January, because of the very same reason.

    That always baffles me also

Not only that ISH would schedule the show during heating season but many manufacturers schedule their training, updates and seminars during the last 4 months of the year. C'mon people!! get out of the office and see what's going on!! We've been burning 12-16 hour days for the last 4 weeks and only spring will see that end.

Schedule your meetings and stuff for the end of March through the first of June. Those are the slower paced times for my business and probably most others.

I would have gone to ISH and the last Wetstock if not for the time of year they happened.

    I know...

...we do too. We try to stay within March and June/July as much as we can, but it is not always possible.

I am glad you are soo busy and see your point. It's better to have too much work, than not enough.

Always voice your concerns TO the manufacturers. It is important to communicate. Too bad I didn't get to meet you at ISH.
  • I'm taking notes

I'll pass on your concerns to our training people. I come from service, before working here, and I agree completely.

    Heating season

I could not agree more. Shows for the heating trade should be in the spring time. I would go to a show in the spring, however this time of the year it is just not possible.

    wrong time of year

I also would have liked tp attend but to leave at this time of the year makes no sense for me,spring is great for me and others that I have talked to.

    My impression was...

that there was a real lack of enthusiasm from the vendors. I suppose they may have been disappointed by the lack of attendance. I was expecting a larger show. I was surprised that a number of manufacturer's were not there.

I went with my wife and we had a good time in Vegas. It was her first time there and it was kind of an excuse for us to go to Vegas together.

I attended two seminars and both were well presented but were 'short' versions of longer seminars by well known industry speakers. I felt that both speakers really rushed their presentations.
