and you'll know how much heat you need, and whether your pipes will support it. This is a job for a pro- go to the Find a Contractor page of this site to locate one near you.

Adding a Steam Radiator
Hi, I have a steam boiler system with one pipe to each radiator. I am redoing my attic and presently have one steam pipe that feeds upto the attic. The pipe in the attic splits into two sections from the Attic floor by a T and a shut-off valve. The pipe feeding off the tees run parallel to the Attic walls and are the source of heat. Each pipe at the end of the run has a small vent. One Pipe runs along the left wall is about 12 feet long, the other pipe runs along the right hand side of the wall about 20 feet long.
I would like to eliminate these unsightly long running pipes and replace them with two smaller short runs with radiators on each run.
Will the system support the two radiators or should I remove the T and only connect one radiator. The Attic space that I want to heat is 20 x 14 and the ceiling slopes at about 40 degrees from the knee walls.
What do you suggest, 2 radiators or one and what size? I was planning on using sunrads.
