2 men who work for my uncle had to split a 4 section oil boiler in half to get it down a spiral staircase, now for the life of them they can not get the final push nipple seated right, is there a tool or trick to this??? This is an oil fired boiler if that helps.any advice is greatly appreciated as always. Thanks for your knowledge,
Frankie SEV,
P.S. this is a peerless boiler

I had that happen once
on a commercial Peerless . One of the upper push nipples went in crooked and we had to cut it out and get a new one . That was a 2 hour mistake .
We had to split many a Peerless for similar situations . When we assembled it back together , we would use a soft setting sealant on the push nipples . Peerless uses a white colored sealant , and sometimes I saw Rectorseal #5 in there . The trick that worked for us was to catch the top push nipple first and then wiggle the 2 halves till the bottom push nipple caught . Then you tighten the rods evenly . A last resort is to lay the back section down on the floor and drop the top half in . Good luck to your uncle and crew .0
