i am prepairing to replace a large gravity boiler ( old coal converted to gas ) I am installing two 95,000 boilers and understand that it will help with the heating costs. is this done by staging them on with a two stage t-stat.

I have down it that way.....
but to maximize savings, the boilers should be piped carefully. With a converted gravity system you will definitely need some type of return temp protection unless you are going with condensing equipment. You could go condensing for the lead, and conventional for the lag to save on up front costs and maximize the return on the investment.
