Thermostatic valves

What piping system works better for radiators with thermostatic valves? Monoflow tee's or parallel feed and return.

TRV's
I would say the TRV's would work fine on both systems, however you do need to be aware that the TRV will increase the head (resistance) in the line and could be a problem on some monoflow branches.
Good luck

TRVs on monoflow
Parallel would be best. As Dennis said, with monoflow you need to watch that you don't create too much pressure drop across the radiator, or you won't get any flow.
Look for a TRV with a high Cv value. Honeywell for example make a V100 series with 2.5 Cv and a V110 series with 4.6 Cv

Tvs on monoflow piping systems
will not work. Any fitting or device that alters the pressure drop in venturii fittings will come back and bite you on the ------- (radiator).

Buderus provides VERY good information on using TRVs in a single-pipe system with their panels. Monoflow/Venturi and proprietary diverter valves are both discussed.
You just can't shortcut on the calculations and have to stay within established parameters.0
