for not only a pro, but one who is well-versed in steam and vapor in particular. That person would eliminate the ones that will not do the best job, by running the system though a few trials. Also, Vaporstats are very expensive and can be damaged easily - I've ruined a few over the years. There is also a little wiring involved. The guage that reads in ounces will not be easy to find. Think about it, you could wind up spending a lot more than if you had one of our pros at Find A contractor take a peek at it. Replacing Pressuretrol with Vaporstat

I am a homeowner and recently purchased the Lost Art of Steam Heating and am trying to make some changes to update my Vapor System. I would like to replace the Pressuretrol and Guage on my system, but I cannot figure out which ones to order. First of all Honeywell has 6 models of vaporstats. I assume I want one that only measures up to 16 oz. This cuts the choices in half, but how do I know if I want one that brakes, makes or does both. Also, I assume that I will need a guage that measures only up to 30 oz/in. The boiler is a Burnham 5b.
