i convinced a friend to go with ci bb in his new house
(the builder's guy is doing it)
any way the plumber messed up on his stub out dimensions
so i walk in and see that he managed by hooking up to the
top tapings
is this proper?
can this fly?
what draw backs?

ci baseb piping
i assume you're talking forced hot water here. How are you going to properly vent the radiation if the water connection is up top. the system will bleed here before the rad will et go of it's trapped air.

The supply end can be on the top
but the return end must be connected at the bottom. This is because the water is slightly cooler on the bottom, and it is this cooler water that should be returned to the boiler.
Another reason at least one connection needs to be at the bottom is so the system can be drained for service, or to prevent freezing if the house is to be left unheated in winter.
The air vents should be at the return end, and they should be tapped into the baseboard itself rather than installed in a baseboard tee.
Is this baseboard piped in series, or does each one have its own supply line from a main?
