    is there one ?

Impatiently waiting for W-M to kick out it's 310 Ultra and have a job 90% sold. Load is 240KBTUH + indirect. Customers don't want to pay for 2 boilers. Also can't wait for November arrival of 310's. Is there another line of condensing units with the capability to handle this load ?
    TIA, Tony

    \"Big\" Munchkin

The 399's are close to being in production. I got to see one at the factory.

Buderus has a condensing boiler, but I think it starts somewhere around 400k btu's.

    How bout using ...

a condensor for the lead boiler as the baseload boiler which handles about 90% of the load and then use an inexpensive standard 80% for the balance of the load. Usually you need about half the capacity for the lead boiler in most applications where the space temp is kept constant. Since the second boiler almost never fires, you really are not losing much efficiency, especially when you look at the long fire times you will be getting on the lead boiler and the longer life that may be expected when you are not cycling controls or thermal cycling the heat exchanger. And the customer has back up as well. Wouldn't be surprised if the price is competitive to a single condensor.

    want a modulator

because the load is variable and I can't control that. Going to use reset and demand DHW to keep temps down but it's a motel so room temps will vary 5-10 degrees. Consolidating 2 heating systems and 6 HWH's into one system. Of course, it's all 30" crawlspace for 215 ft...
Wondering now if there is a reset control that will "high fire" for DHW then return to reset temp for heating. Have to run a little warmer than normal reset for response time of individual rooms.

Check out Patterson-Kelley boilers, it looks like they have a 300 and 450 Condensing, Modulating boiler:

    Munchkin w DHW priority

The Munchkin boiler has a program called the "Vision I" That program does exactly what you are requesting - domestic hot water generation via an indirect @ full fire capacity while eliminating the heating circuit, and then returning to the outdoor re-set setting for heat generation. Of course, the heating surve is adjustable according to the type of heat emmitter that is being used. Check it out with your local Munchkin dealer rep. We have used this program on the last 2 installs and couldn"t be more impressed.
