Pex vs. PAP - Which one and Why ?

I am doing radiant floor in 2 rooms (9x14 each) in my home using Thermofin C in one room between the joists and Thermofin U over the floor with sleepers in the other. 1/2" pipe, one zone, 2 circuits. Both rooms will have hardwood finish flooring. Closed system, hwh with heat exchanger.

I have been advised by one expert to use PAP for its ease of handling and advised by another expert to use pex because PAP bends.

Which do you prefer and why ?

    joist bay installs

The type of install you are going to do I am assuming is a joist bay.The c-fin will be screwed to the underside of the subfloor.PAP is easy to work with as is pex.I havent installed PAP in a joist bay application for fear of the tube kinking.

The advantage of PAP over pex is it is much more stable. So with higher temps it will not expand and contract nearly as much as pex.If you plan your install and take time and care I am sure you can accomplish it.I am converting my home this season and have some PAP I will be installing in c-fin:).

There was quite a discussion on this subject sometime ago.If you try the search feature you maybe able to find it.It was complete with pics.

Thanks Mike. I tried the search feature and found some comments but no big discussion and no definitive answer. I might be over-analyzing this little installation. I'll be picking up the PEX tomorrow.
