98°, 49% humidity = 112° heat index
Wind gusty (unusual for us in the summer) about 15 mph = add 2° for wind "chill".
It's like stepping into a steam room with a fan blowing on you!
We got lucky the first part of August--coolest in over 30 years but now even worse than normal.
26,000 BTUs of A/C cooling about 750 sq. ft. Hasn't stopped in over two hours and temp is set at 78°!

In eastern Ma. , The boomers are just starting. They tell me we're in for almost Fall weather for the next couple of days !And ....Here comes the water !
Mr. Milne is almost to the Red Sox game about now . Hope they get it in ! Chris0 -
Typical
Chris,
Are those the same RedSox who are currently 7 games behind the Yanks, and 1 behind Oakland in the wildcard race.
Another typical August in New England.

Thank GAWD , I gave up ......
on the hometeam oh so long ago. I'm not so much a pessimist , as a realist. Every year after a great start, a mediocre mid, and falling apart after the Allstar Break, I've decided that I'd rather watch the minor leagues. At least they try. Chris0 -
I wish I had a Camera right now !
The rain has come and stopped, but the sky and air are the most brilliant yellow right now . The sun isn't anywhere to be seen , but the whole surround is yellow.
I remember seeing this 1 time before, while living out on the end(or is it the beginning?) of Long Island (Montauk) and it was also the first time I ever saw a water spout.Scary stuff ! Chris0 -
I saw that too
I also had lightning strike closer than I have ever seen
the friggin walls were shaking!
funny thing was I started thinking about surge suppressors when a strike hit 7 houses down,my customer a munchkin job she has not called yet.
my arm has fingernail impressions from nadine!

You wish you were here
64* at 11.00AM nice dry, clear, crisp, clean wonderful air with a sky so blue it looks as if you could swim in it. earlier this morning a a little after 6 it was 47*. The trees are starting to turn here and there, the salmon are running and yes, the phone is ringing off the desk.0
