Single pipe steam convector source needed

If it worked fine with the old boiler and not the new, I'm guessing its a boiler problem.
Steam is funny that way. Usually the problem and the source of the problem are not in the same room.

Single Pipe Steam system convector source needed
All,
While we were trouble shooting a squirting convector unit, we took it of the system and noticed that there was water stuck in it even though it was pitched correctly.
We think that it's somehow plugged and the water doesn't return even with the correct pitch.
Anybody know where to get replacement convectors?
I have found a number of places that make convectors for 2-pipe systems, but none for single pipe systems.
Any OTHER options that we can try?
Thanx all0 -
Ira, is the pipe feeding that convector
big enough? If not, this can cause water to fail to drain back to the boiler.
A partially-open shutoff valve can do the same thing.
Or maybe you need more pitch. How long is that convector, and is it a fin-tube or cast-iron one?
What is its rating in BTUH or EDR?

the pipe looks like a 1-1/2 pipe.
I think it's big enough.. the squirting didn't start till the 25 year old boiler was changed to a new high efficency one.
The convector is a ~45 inche long fin-tube.
I'll try to increase the pitch but I think I'm pushing the flexibilty of the metal.
Currently the pitch is around 2 inches in 45 inches.
Thanx

Now I'm curious, too
Is the insulation still on the steam mains? Is the new boiler piped with the right size and length risers and header? Do the steam pipes connect to the header properly? Is the boiler water clean? Are the returns that are wet plugged? Is the boiler too big?
