The happiest day of my life

Thanks for all of your kind words. This is a very exciting time . I have been a doing a lot of reflecting on my own childhood, and I stop and think WOW I was raised pretty darn good. I only hope I can do half as good a job. I think the most important thing is to be there for him.

I heard a saying the other day that really hit home with me. In America we "Live to Work"
In Mexico they "Work to Live". That is how I want my family to be raised. Together as 1 unit. I will not let my business run my family.

The happiest day of my life

Just wanted to share with the Wall the happiest day of my life. On 8/5/03 my first son was born. I have been looking forward to this for a long time and it is now here. I would have never beleived how this has already changed me. He has made me want to be a better person and a good role model. I wouldnt change anything for the world. It really reinforces what life is all about. I cant say enough good about my wife. It truely amazes me what women go through to give us this joy. She is a saint.

    Congrats!

Huge congratulations Bryan and hang on to your shoes!!! Life is a wonderful thing and having the first baby is unexplainable in words. I dont think even Dan can muster the language to describe the experience! All our best to you and the family. Lets make him a good boiler guy as he grows up. We need more of them out there!!!

    Jeff,
Thanks for your kind words. You hit the nail right on the head. I think his first book should be the Lost Art.

My youngest son was born August fifth, the same day as his Dad. Same day as my next door nieghbor, hows that for a coincedence ?

Congratulations Bryan, I remember that day myself and the feeling. It is overwhelming. Now comes the tough part. Be a Dad.

    Tell him you love him

tell him when he's done wrong

tell him when your proud of him

tell him when he's disapointed you

    tell him ... everything.

    Being a father

Remember how you feel now and never loose site of it. As time goes on one can forget. Rember this any one can be a father but it takes special dedication and understanding with anything life can throw at you. Never put him aside for there is nothing more important. Always keep the lines of comunication open for him. Be a dad but be his friend. Be a real dad and your son will always be a real son. I am a real dad, have been for 27 years and, would not trade it for anyhting. Enjoy my man before you know it they are out of shool and you are an old man.

    Congrats Bryan

Thanks for sharing your joy with us. You've reminded me of when I was first a Dad. I had the same feelings, and good feelings they are. My kids really helped me straighten my life out. My son is 13 and we went out to the Redskin/Patriot game together last night. (Too bad about the outcome) It's great when we spend time together. (Even though he hates it when I hum the National Anthem in the opening ceremony). Enjoy your time with your son. WW
