Shared Heating Plant

Have a project with 7 Duplex Homes. This 7 Home project consists of three type of units: Unit 1; 41,000 Btus, Unit 2; 49,000 Btus & Unit 3; 60,000 Btus. These are the heating loads. The entire project load is 350,000 Btus.

Each side of each home (duplex) will have hot water coils.

The project is set to have one separate heating source. To top things off it is going to be located at one end of the project. The duplex homes sit along side of each other.

From one end to the other is 500 Feet.

They want to pipe a loop from the boiler all the way out and back. Then take each hot water coil off of this main loop.

I am looking for thoughts on the sizing of the main (primary loop) and then piping and control strategy?

I am on uncharted water with multiple homes off the same heating source and separated a total of 500 feet.

Oh wise ones, any advise?

    just curious

How are the fuel bills to be paid? Do they plan to divide the cost based on percentage of calc heat load? Is that realy fair if someone cranks the heat up? What about DHW?
