It was my pleasure to meet you today.

As you know, I work in another service industry, but I get to see more complete cross-section of the workers in my industry. This includes those who love it and want to learn, and those who don't. It can be hard to concentrate on improving ourselves when concentrating on the other peripheral "stuff".

I enjoy the level of commitment of those found here. It is very encouraging. I especially like the urge to learn.

Okay, here's my question: You said today that the ten foot ceilings were lowered to eight feet at some point so that the heat would be squished further toward the floor near the women's feet. This was obviously a good idea (although it probably caused a hotter bedroom in the summer). So was there a time BEFORE the ten foot ceilings when they were lower? One would think that the thought process worked the same the other way around. Wouldn't one? In other words, did someone say "Hey its hot in here in the summer! Lets raise the ceiling, so we are cooler in the summer, and in the winter, we'll just raise the bed so that we are closer to the ceiling and into the woarmer air".

Thanx again

Maybe I'll see you in Reading

Jake

    Yep,

the ceilings went up to make it cooler in the summer, and the beds followed to make them warmer in the winter. Glorious stuff, isn't it.

T'was a joy to meet you. Thanks for making the time for me.

    Reading!

    Retired and loving it.
