try
Argo Industries. Been there, done that. Priced it REAL high to convince them to go w/ another fuel. Didn't work. Made a load of money for a little work. "A fool and their money..."0 -
Electric Boilers
Try EFM and Slant/Fin, also.0 -
That may not be a bad idea
based on the rumors about gas prices increases. As LP approches 1.40 per gallon, electric starts looking much better at the 7 cent per KW price in my area.
Think I would convince her to keep the fossil fueled unit and pipe in an electric backup, allowing her to choose her fuel sourse based on market prices.
Slant Fin Monitor is a brand I have used most often. EFM is another reasonably peiced option, for a wall mount steel boiler choice.

More and more
customers around here are starting to install photovoltaics and want electric boilers; still have yet to install one, though.
Don't have to worry about flue gas condensation.

How many watts?
That sounds a little extreme, but I like it.

SEVEN cents!!!!
I pay 15 cents here in New Hampshire! Is there a TVA type set up in SW Misssou? kpc0 -
WOW
My last bill worked out to 15.5 cents !!! WNY on National Grid. Went up 3 cents since deregulation. If I paid 7 I'd have a GSHP.0 -
I've read
about some PV panels that tie directly to the resistence heat elements with going through an inverter and taking that efficiency hit.
I think the feds used some when the EPA building in Washington was recently upgraded. They used a lot of new and high tech solar equipment on that project.
