gas boiler cleaning

I know oil fired boilers should normally have an annual brushing and vacuuming of the flue passageways, firebox, and flue pipe, etc presumably to remove soot and improve heat transfer. But what about gas? I have a 30 yr old Burnham boiler K-5007 and the fuel side passages seem pretty heavily scaled. I can only assume with the metal clean the heat transfer would be better and the boiler probably more efficient. How can I clean this. Does someone (Burnham?) make a special brush?
Thanks.
Thanks.

Dan, you need
to go to the Find a Contractor page of this site. That boiler needs some professional attention, especially after 30 years.
Besides a good cleaning, you also need to have a combustion analysis done. This will ensure the burners are properly adjusted and burning cleanly and efficiently, without producing carbon monoxide. Besides being a deadly poison, carbon monoxide is wasted fuel.
While they're there, have them analyze the water heater, stove and any other gas appliances you have. I see a lot of carbon monoxide coming from stoves. If you don't test, you don't know!
