Thanks again Paul.

What had me kind of baffled, was that just about everything on the circuit board was optional, including the manual reset (?). I'll call your contact in the morning. See, I help you you help me. Great concept.

    I am looking for some...

...information on a Control that would be built into the Lochinvar CHN0501-M9 Boiler. I am told that I am dealing with an internal 2-stage (low/hi fire) mechanism and am wondering what it would take to have those enabled. Usually those are just a set of TT's for each stage, aren't they? A Dry-contact closure should be enough. It appears to me to be a step-stager.

The guy I am working with said that those boilers are different. I tried their web site, but couldn't get it to open up for me and it's after hours back east. Do any of you fine gentlemen have any experience with those boilers?

If not, I'll get them in the morning.

    Thanks.

    CHN Wiring

Hope this helps. I just printed this off myself. I will let you know my recommendation. Be sure to disengage the self-destruct mechanism. (just kidding)
Also the direct link in to their wiring schematics.

    Paul,

Thats exactly what I was looking for. Did you just get that off their web site? I have been unable to connect to it. I keep getting a message saying that their server is down.

    Thanks again. Muchly appreciated.

    Yes

It was registering down until a few moments ago. This is a new feature they are developing. It is called the Electronic catalog. I am a lochinvar distributor and Dean Grey at the plant is a tremendous help with these types of questions. (615-889-8900) I have had to wire in similar controls with boilers that have internal 2-stage firing. Dean has previously advised me to wire in series with the gas valve control....That was on the Mini-fin series, not the Copper-Fin II series we are talking about. It looks to me that we have two options. 1st, as mentioned, wire in series parallel with stage 1 and 2 gas valves. Or, wire in series with the EMS terminal strip labelled stage 1 and 2. (?) I would advise calling Dean in the morning since I am not positive, and that is what I would choose to be.
