There's a new driver out there as of 3 PM today.

Freedom as a young one spreads his wings to experience a new found mobility.

Seems we experience so many of these moments in our children's lives:

a first step

potty training

separation at day care

kindergarden

that first day of school - every year

riding a bike without training wheels!

summer camp

and now driving solo

seems like they're always leaving :(

But that's how it's meant to be - one gigantic step at a time. If we do our jobs well, they have the courage to let go and take that independence with gusto.

Now that the permit license is over & done - we'll be dog meat!

    Been there, done that..

I remember when my son just got his license and shortly afterwards he asked if he could use my 4x4 to go out with his girly friend and after giving it careful consideration I said, Yes, but you need to take Moms car, I'd hate for you to smash up the truck having your mind on your girlyfriend...I think I gave him bad luck, but saved the truck :)

    Mom wasn't too happy...:(

we can only laugh at those moments now...not saying you should laugh if anything happens..I'm shuttin' up!

    Son's and Dads' things

If it is broke it must be dads! never let the Son drive the company truck! Murphy's law will wreck it. It is just that way. By a new hacksaw and the son will somehow drop it 40 feet to the concrete. Get a new shovel, two shovels full and the handel will snap. Open up a can 5# can of pipe dope and the son will spill at least 1/2 of it in a sand pile! It is not the sons fault it is Murphy! New hammer? It will get lost just as you son takes it out of the truck. Oh~~? Son old enough to work with you? Look in your wallet~~broke~~?
This is just the way it is! bigugh!
