    if you want it...

done right it would be the way. I suppose if the apts were cookie cutter type you could guesstimate. kpc

    Checking apts

Did you do the estimate and get the job?

If you did the stimate and got the job do the inspection and do the math.

If you sized the boiler based on what was already in the building you may find that a smaller burner and boiler is needed.

Smaller means less cost and the profits increase. If you did not do the estimate yet do the inspection. If a smaller boiler is installed the cost will be less and that cn get you the job.

Most important learn the system you are working on and find out what problems are in the system. The repair work that is not done can get you a lot of trouble or make you extra money if the owner wants the additional work done.

If repairs are needed and the owner only wants a boiler make sure the owner understands that you are replacing a boiler only.

    I Second that

It's usually a given with a steam system that it's time to replace more than the boiler. Vents, Traps, Condensate pumps, stations, piping, everything should be checked and write in the contract what the customer does and doesn't want.
C.Y.A. Ask me how I know this.

You'd better do it Nate, or you may get

a real beatin'. For a project of that size, I would make sure that i was gettin paid for the estimate, with that being applied to the job if we got it. That's a lot of time...50 apts? Get paid Mad Dog
