    Detroit summer, 1903

Look into their beautiful faces, all filled with summer and with hope. All gone.

Sort of puts your day-to-day worries into perspective, doesn't it?

    Enjoy today.

    Hug your kids.
    Retired and loving it.

    I believe

That photo was taken last week at the M.Hunt Birthday party.

And if I am not mistaken, Murphs photo was the first high velocity air conditioning system installed.

    Thanks, Dan

As usual, you have the magic touch.

I see a generation (or two) that had the strength and guts to fight two world wars, and live through the depression...and that plague you described.

Despite our troubles of today, most of us still have it WAY better than they...and their faces don't look too sad about it.

    Take Care, PJO

    I can tell ya' this

there wasn't much to look at.

Can you imagine what would happen if you could send the girls from Bay Watch back in time?!?!?

I do believe I see Milne in that pic.

He would be the portly older fellow.

    You guys !

A milestone has been achieved ! Why do you have to break his ....spirit ?

Mark, if it makes you feel any better, I hit the big 4-0 last year. The only difference I've noticed is the older folks, who now ask if they can "hold that picture a little further away". They experienced it some time ago , and just want to bring you into the fold . Don't be intimidated ! Age is a state of mind ...not a state of , what's that word I'm looking for ? Chris

    What you do,

or at least what I do, is to move your cursor to the lower right-hand corner of the photo and hover it there until the little box appears. Click it and the photo will be enlarged. Then just scroll around and look at their faces. Look at their faces for a while, and just think about the things that may be bothering you today.

A hundred years from now, they will gaze at my work and marvel at my skills, but never know my name.

And that will be good enough for me.

Enjoy the summer, lads. Time is the only true commodity!

Here's a weird one for you, Dan

I'm just relaxing after a hard day's work, surfing the net, listening to Pink Floyd's "Mother" when I ran across your post. I'm getting goosebumps thinking about days gone by. I wonder what the future generations going to think about us?

    I think it depends

on how we choose to live our lives.

For you Colorado Wetheads, Glenwood Springs, 1904. Hasn't changed much, has it?

    That house

is still there. Looks a bit different, though. It's a restaurant, with a wonderful arcade below. Lots of old-fashioned games. Been some years since I was there but I'll bet Alan Forbes could tell us about it.

    Beautiful America.
