I am looking for a steam-aholic in my area. This is New Windsor, NY. Right on the edge of Stewart International Airport.
The house next door had two-pipe vapor of some sort, and it was converted to H2O. The conversion only included a new boiler and a circ pump. Eventually (after the occupant was already in the nursing home) it stopped heating, and the son sent out someone to drain the system, and let it stay cold. They didn't get much water out, because every radiator except one leaked. (Could be cracks or nipple leaks) Anyway, if the rads are irrecoverable, a new system is in order.
I am thinking about offering a price on the house, and I wanted to get an idea of what it might cost me to bring it back to original.
Anyone with "mild interest" to "downright excited" can respond or email me. This is the very early stage of brainstorm, so we'll see how it goes.
Thanx, Jake

I'm Excited!
only trouble is, I'm in Baltimore. But if you can't find the radiators you need, we have a bunch and could arrange something.
Here is a VERY GOOD REASON to NOT convert a fine old Vapor system to hot-water.
Was this another Thermal System?

I'm not sure
I have to get another look inside, with a light and maybe a camara. He said there are "others" who might be looking to buy it and "flip it" or tear it down and build a new hhouse on the old foundation. Seems like kind of a travesty to me. I'm going to see if I can save it.
By the way, I still have to do that header. I'll let you know when it's done.

I'm interested in talking about this house with you.
I'm not very far away, either.
E-mail me or call me, if you like.
