pressurizing expansion tanks

i am on a job and we are at the stage of energizing the hot water system.the problem is im getting conflicting data on what pressure the expansion tank needs to be set at.factory charge was 12psi.static system pressure is 75#.is there a formula that i could use to help me with my problem?

After you are sure it is the right size, precharge it to the cold fill pressure of the system. That's it!

A 12 PSI tank charge being placed on a 75 PSI system? Sounds like a hydronic tank (rated for a maximum of 30 PSI) being installed on a potable hot water system. Potable thermal expansion tanks normally come with more than 12 PSI charge on the bladder. Be careful out there!
