repairman leaves soot on my carpet

I had the repairman here from my oil company to service my unit. After he got done I noticed soot on my carpet. I called him back into the house and showed him the soot he replied "Well oil heat is dirty so just get used to it." I told him I'm going to call his boss. He just got in his truck and drove away. I'll keep you posted with what his boss says. Can you believe the nerve on him?
