Meeker Mansion Restoration Day 4-7-PGP

We've made significant progress in repiping the Basement gravity mains and laterals which needed replacement. We added a Buderus "Solidoflux" wall radiator in the Basement storage area where they keep special woods and moldings and other architectural artifacts. It's sooo nice and cool down there. An arsonist tried to burn the building down in 1991, and there was alot of soot in the lid. Fotunately the fire was put out with min. damage (and the arsonist was caught). Some beams were sandblasted to remove the char. We looked like coal miners after hanging pipe all day.
We decided to relid the ceiling of the mechanical room (360SF) and insulate it with R19 batts. It's now the only insulated room in the building. The sheetrockers come tomorrow. We took delivery of the Viessmann boilers, but we'll do the boiler room at the end of July. Getting the difficult piping finished first, makes it more rewarding to do the easier tasks.
The Pipe and strut hangers are Mupro's latest. We use the Mupro/Rems threaded rod cutter for 3/8 rod for easy assembly. We're using Wirsbo 1/2" MultiCor for radiator supply and returns for its ease of assembly. All the piping will be insulated after commisioning.

Yo Mark...
Thanks...at least it was Ezra Meeker's castle!! This job calls for a pressing tool. If there was only universal fittings available that did both copper and PEX/PEX-Al-PEX. I'll be certain to change methods very soon. We have to do a 2hr firewatch after the last joint is soldered. It was tempting to repipe all in black iron, but it raised the insulation costs significantly.
