so much for granted. Life can be tough sometimes. I have a friend who we meet for barbecue now and then. When they resolve an argument between their kids and the kids complain saying" that's not fair" they always respond "Lifes not fair, you may as well learn it here." While I see the humour in this it also has an edge of truth. Hug your kids, Call your parents, and take the dog for a walk. They all love you and your life is better for it. WW

    Just woke up

There was a story about a guy who came out of a coma recently, after being in it since 1984. He is trying to catch up on things and still is in the '84 frame of mind. He still thinks Reagan is Prez.

Hmmm, that's the last year the Detroit Tigers won a World Series. He probably fell off his bed when he looked at the 2003 standings. I wonder what else was a culture shock for him -- e-mail? Britney Spears? Mighty Ducks?

    on an estimate today

at a mill built in 1887 & later turned into a bar - now slated to become offices.

The owner, very elderly, fell and won't be returning. The bar's been closed for years, but nothing was touched since that day - like a window into the past. Scattered about were letters - one from Nancy Reagan thanking him for his support and stating how much Ronnie appreciated his help. Turned out this character was a big KKK honcho, which would have been a shocker for nancy!

On a sadder note, a friend a few years younger had a massive heart attack and was placed into an induced coma while Hershey Medical Center scrambled for a replacement heart. He's not expected to last another day or two and other organs have started to fail. He was the head coach for his son's little league team and a very proud Dad whenever his boy hit the field.

    Hug your kids.

    Craig @ 44

Passed away at 2:30 last night. His family was at his side as he slipped off to coach another team. His stand at York Central Market (Take Five Expresso) was dark today, so I knew he'd moved on.

44 is too young to move on.

The stand holders next to Craig's were related to the family whose helicopter tour crashed in Hawaii last month killing all aboard. Sad times & grief shared by the common bond of stand-holders within this venerable old market house.
