HOT WATER COIL

having trouble identifying the saucer looking object on the hot water coil and if it is still needed. coil is in dunham-bush unit, hot water boiler system, wall heater in a bathroom, three speed fan switch, blower is underneath coil.
anybody ever seen one of these?

What you're looking at is a 'Chill Chaser',
the saucer is what's left of the pump unit. Rip it all out, put in something like a Beacon-Morris KK-84 and a new circulator and that's that. You'll also probably need to do some wiring. The unit was created by Iron-Fireman, but was sold under many trade names including Dunham-bush.0 -
