"Modine CEO Comments on Jefferson City, MO facility

RACINE, Wis., July 2, 2003 - David B Rayburn, President & Chief Executive Officer of Modine Manufacturing Company has released the following statement regarding the events that took place at its Jefferson City, MO facility on the evening of July 1, 2003.

"We are deeply saddened and are grieving the loss of our fellow Modine employees at Jefferson City. Modine’s focus at this point is on supporting our employees and their families through this very tragic event. We are highly concerned about those that were injured and our hearts go out to the families of those we lost."

"Modine has suspended operations at the plant to ensure our employees and their families have the necessary support during this period. We are making arrangements to ensure that our employees have full access to counseling and all resources of Modine."

In case you didn't hear, a disgruntled employee killed three co-workers and then himself. Very sad. My heart goes out to the families of the victims

    Hard to

    understand how this happens, John. Doesn't look like anyone will ever figure out what causes people to snap. Just so sad that they feel it necessary to take innocent victims with them.
