Steve,
I don't know what the limits are but if you only need 2 wires and you are running the 4 wire cable, you can connect the wires in pairs which will cut the resistance in half.

so how far can you run t-stat wire. With either a digital or?

They have changed plans and think I'm a miracle worker. Ha. I use four wire 18gauge. It's about a 250 ft. run.

Oh I've worked miracles for this gc before but pleeease...

Will a remote go that far?

    Thanks

    Honeywell recommends...

18 gauge thermostat wire for most of our programmable & non-programmable stats. On our PC8900 Home Control Center, the indoor remote temperature sensors can be up to 200' away fron the W8900 control unit, and shielded wire is recommended for them IF you run them within 1 foot of line voltage wires. The optional outside air temp sensor for the T8600 series can be up to 200' away from the stat, and should be wired with shielded wire if run near line voltage . The new T8665A wireless stat can be used up to 200 feet away from the W8665A receiver. Go to http://hbctechlit.honeywell.com for tech sheets. Hope this helps!

    thanks

I may look into that H/W remote. One rep said the danfoss won't go that far? So far only crossing one other wire.

Did think bout using the four to two wire idea.

Thought about using only outdoor reset to control temp also but all folks I've talked to want control(t-stat).

?On that remote what can get in the way besides distance? Logs, concrete walls, glass(lots)and metal studs everywhere else?

    Again thanks to all!!
