removing paint from old radiators

we're looking for a way to restore several old radiators in our apartment. We were told that we should have the radiator removed and sandblasted. Then, if we really want it look special, have it powder coated. Does anyone know who does this in New York City?

Powder coating
Sand blasting is ok but if powder coating involves heating the radiator to a high temp. it can ruin the paper gaskets that are sometimes between the sections. Just prime them and paint them. There was an error rendering this rich post.

Paper gaskets
I have heard that there is paper gaskets between the sections of radiators that are put together with left/right nipples. When you heat the radiator to powder coat them they can leak. There was an error rendering this rich post.

I've
never read about that, Dave. Where did you hear it?
And does anyone know of a good sandblasting company in or near NYC for Nancy? I told her she might get a good lead here. Thanks.Retired and loving it.0
