Take a bow boy's!I'm sure all of you feel like thats your home:)It's a long haul a job like that and can even start festering:).But when it's done the pride is felt by you.Keep it!I have'nt been privelaged to conquer such a large project.
A couple of questions.Oil filtration?I know you have filters where? What type of oil tanks are installed. The barometric tee on the 215 right side..........I always understood that to be taboo.I thought it to be installed on the vert or horizantal.Did you have to change the termistor for the super stor so the 2107 control could communicate with it?The 79 gallon Buderus tank couldnt compete?:)
Great looking job..........oh yeah the fresh air for combustion I'm curious how you fellers ran that.
Nice job again boys!

Allmost a year
Since we started this project. This house sits on the Atlantic Ocean. Some of you may remember that this was the first panel that we built in our office. Also the first photos I ever posted to the wall.
Well here is the finished project.
Two buderus oil fired with a logomatic control and a staging card. We used a 119 gallon Super-Stor as the indirect ( no tankless coil here ). The bathrooms are Radiant and the main house has four zones of Hydro coils.
The boilers where installed by JCA, Chris Payson did the majority of the plumbing work and all finish work. Most of the crew where involved in this project at some time or another.
This is the largest prioject we've done to date and since it came out so well we hope to be involved with many more.
We are all quite proud of this job.
Scott

You got it wrong Bud. They are lucky to have you guys doing their job. And you will get more of these jobs. Keep taking the photos and put them in a book to show the next prospect.0 -
Thanks Mark
Tonight is a little gathering for the architects to show of the house. HOPEFULLY SOMEBODY goes down stairs .
How about that Buderus Blue for the panel ?
The painters sprayed down in the boiler room and put a nice white powder over our work before we could throw them out, so it looks alittle dirty.

The view
From the top of the house is outragous !!!
To the left is Gloucester harbour and to the right is Boston.
There is a small bar sink on the third floor and then a stairway to the top of the house.

Thanks for the photos Scott !
Gentlemen, (and I use that term loosely), The paint sprayed in the boiler room was "hunter green" and made a flippin' mess!
I am contemplating sending the painting company a bill so I can get down there and COMPOUND the overspray from the various surfaces that they "spoiled" . I wish I had the time to fix all the stuff that they covered in the overspray.
The electricians were just as P.O.'d as I was , since all the white romex in the general area was covered with green.
One thing that also got my goat was the insulators. They decided that the boiler on the right was a good platform to STAND ON while they did their job.
Next time, Im gonna build a plastic room around the system so that these boneheads don't get tempted.
As Scott said..it was a long job, and we started in it's infancy. We knew things were bound to happen but didn't figure on some of the clowns blatently doing what they did. I will say , the G.C. was quite aware of what we did , and tried his best to keep things in control. Only 1 hole in the radiant floors through the whole project.(pinch bar in a doorway to a commode area hit a floor tube) Not bad considering the size of this job !
Thanks for the compliments. Chris0 -
OOOps...
Scott, forgot to thank you for the opportunity to do this. Chris.0 -
way cool
I love jobs like these. I'm on one now that started two years ago and the roofs not done and the windows ain't either. And now they want it done by Sept.
It's a complicated home to say the least. More artwork than most. And instead of oceans it looks up to the La Platas. It will be gorgeous when done(if you like the style).
got a digital.now to learn to use and post.0 -

The customer lucked out by choosing Scott , Chris and crew for this project . The heat panel work is real fine - makes me very envious because I wouldnt know where to start to install something like it . Excellent workmanship .0 -

Although, I am allergic to blue..........
it is a very impressive project, Scott. With all of this classy work I'm seeing of late, hopefully the homeowners that are watching will understand that to some of us, this is an art form. Sort of. Now close your eyes, click your heals and repeat after me......Vitosilver, Vitosilver.....;-)

Cheese,
The Oil tanks (2 330 gal Granby units)are in a seperate room across the hall. Same room as the radiant manifold is in .I used a Garber Long filter on each tank. Nothing but the best for the customer.Ma. code ...we have to pitch the tanks forward, bottom feed so all the goo ends up where it belongs.
As for the 2nd barometric, It stays closed pretty much all of the time. I decided to install it as a "backup' due to seeing the one on the left holding steady in the open position during a good wind/rain storm. Being on the water like this can mess with the wind in seconds, but also in strange and mysterious ways.
As for the fresh air, The space isn't by any stretch confined, but I wanted to make sure there was something near the burners because of all the nasty work that was going on over the winter. (sheet rock, PAINTING, various cement/foundation drilling in the area ). The guys that did the copper gutter work made me a sweet air intake hood out of copper and lead for the outside . A little screen to keep the critters out and all is right with the world !It will turn the same color as the gutters (some call it "having a petina") and look great .
The Super Stor was specd in the original plan. We used the thermister supplied with the control by the designer. Could be that there are 2 HUGE tubs and three multihead showers that led to the decision. I think the Buderus unit probaly would have kept up with demand, but that wasn't my call. Thanks for the kind words . Chris0 -
HB,
One of the other jobs I finished recently (pictures to be shown at a later date) , was in a house a few towns away. The owner IS an artist, watercolors and the like. She actually made the comment you did. "So, this IS your art ?"
How else do you respond ? I told her some people work in different mediums, mine just happens to be heat. She proudly showed her boiler room to quite a few visitors while I was there.
BTW,blue is nice AND, I like silver too. We give the customer what they want, many options! Chris0 -
Thanks Ron,
I feel like I just slugged you in the gut , having all this room !
Shoehorning wasn't even a remote problem. By the way, I think you would do JUST FINE doing this work if you had the time and space. Chris0
