I lived in Staten Island for 20+ years. What's interesting to know about that boat graveyard are there are hulls there from the Civil War to WWI. I'm told the environmental impact of removing them now far outweighs the benefits. They are home to several fish and bird species that otherwise haven't been seen anywhere in NYC.
