Looking for a cover for a boiler

in a Levitt house today . I would say that 53 years is a good life for a boiler .

Comments

  • We used a WBV3 with a F3 burner

The homeowner said the noise was quieter with the new unit than with the old boiler and slow speed burner . The customers were excellent , they had a fridge stocked with drinks for us , asked us repeatedly if they could get us lunch , and thanked us profusely for giving them time to paint around the walls where the old boiler sat . Very , very nice people .

I forgot to take a pic of the boiler cover , but their cabinet maker fashioned some mica around an old cover to match the kitchen . It doesnt look like the best piece of cabinetry in the room , so the homeowner asked if I knew where she could find the pre-made , specially built fiberglass cover that she has seen in some of her neighbors homes . She told me she called Tragar Fuel of Wantagh , but they stopped sellling them years ago . I remembered seeing an ad for the cover at a supply house - ACME Rasol of Copiague , and called a friend there , but they also stopped stocking them years ago . I was wondering if anyone knows of anyplace that still carries these covers , or if someone knows of a place that might be able to prefab some covers - I'm thinking one of the oil tank cover companies might be able to do it . There are quite a few homeowners who ask this question . Thanks for any help in advance .

    Hey Ron Jr.

Nice looking as always. Up here in Ma we can have one made up in metel. Any good fab. shop should be able too. I tell customer to ask for a heavy gauge, not like sheet metel for ducts. After they can be painted for a good look, had one made like this but with a s.s. top was best looking thing in kitchen when done. Nothing like boiler work in a kitchen LOL John@Reliable

    Wow

Nice improvement from the original. Not sure what you are looking for in a cover, but rember vent and ventalation. With the black iron supply pipe so darn close to the top, how are you going to remove the peerless cover to clean the inside? Is the Peerless a backwall zero clearance? Thanks for the Pictures.
