2 Pipe Hot Water Radiator Valve Belknar?

in THE MAIN WALL
Working on an old 2 pipe hot water system, on a few of the radiators there was a valve that had both the feed and return going into it on one side of the radiator. The writting on the valve read BELKNAR. How do these valves work? Can you still get them anywhere? Thanks...
