Power vented water heaters usually have a "puff" switch to sense induced draft before allowing ignition. What's your set-up?

gas hot water heater - power outage
I have power vented type water heater. Normally it goes out when the power goes out. Recently, there was a power outage, and this time the water heater ignited, and stunk up the basement. how to fix?0 -
All power vent heaters
They all must prove the inducer is running before ignition, if the burner runs without the exhaust blower the pressure switch is failed closed or the gas valve is mech. stuck open. If it isnt venting outside and the blower is running then the outlet is blocked, however the pressure switch should stop the gas valve if the flue is blocked.0
