Curious if anyone has traveled to Germany and what companys or buildings I might be able to visit or see unique / older radiant systems operating. Will be traveling from Frankfurt to Munich to Heidelberg and surrounding areas.

    I've never seen

any older radiant systems there, Eric. Most are new. If you're in Frankfurt, take a tour of the CommerceBank. It's one of the most mechanically advanced buildings in the world. Also, ask to see the boiler room wherever you stay. The Germans are proud of what's in the basement!

    older radiant systems

Swing over to Trier, due West of Frankfurt, right on border with France, ca 2 1/2 hr drive because you have to go an indirect route. There are remnants of radiant floor heating systems installed by Constantine about 1600 years. You might also admire the intact massive city gate put up 1800 years ago.

    munich

While you are in Munich, try visiting the Deutsches Museum (http://www.deutsches-museum.de/e_index.htm, click Exhibitions), great exhibits on science, engineering, metallugry, tunnel contruction, etc.

    Just south of Stuttgart...

...(which should be on your way to Munich), you could call a good friend of mine Gerd Mayer. Give him a call and tell him Mike Miller sent you. His english is not the best, but if you speak slow, he can communicate quite nicely. When I was at ISH this year, I had him meet a couple of guys that I knew from NY and he took them around. They had a blast. He'll show you around some great jobs him and I did a number of years ago. He'll definitely keep you busy looking at some artwork for at least a couple of days. His number is 01149-(0)7432-4411 or email gemaenergie@t-online.de.

Have fun there, but keep safe.
