I met
the April-Aire rep at an RE Michel and he set me up with one.
It is a can of CO and a bag. You put the bag over the CO alarm and spray the CO into it.
If the alarm doesn't go off, it doesn't work.
I am going to start testing ALL CO alarms I find now that NY has made CO detectors mandatory in ALL homes.

I'll be real curious what you find. I've been using 100ppm calibration gas to demo the difference between the CO-Experts Monitor and a brand new, top of the line ($75)Nighthawk.
The CO-Experts starts beeping within 30 seconds, the Nighthawk always takes 1 to 2 hours.
Do keep in mind that the problem is not with the Nighthawk (and other brands that are UL approved), the problem is with the UL 2034 standard that requires they not respond to low levels. Although GRI did a study on the performanc and reliability of CO alarms and found that 38% failed right out of the box!!
If you haven't looked at George Kerr's website, get up to speed quickly on the CO alarm/UL 2034 issues - lots of real good info www.coexperts.com . You can download the GRI report from a link there.0 -
I'll
keep you posted Rudy.
