Hybred Heating systems

I am starting to hear some talk of so called hybred heating systems. Systems with radiant floors and air handlers with chillers for AC. Is this going to be or is this all ready a popular way of doing things? Is this the HVAC guys' ideas for breaking into the radiant market. Does this method make a lot of sense? Any info would be appreciated.

    Hybrid

    Hi Bob,

Combined air and water for residential systems has been developing for some time though it is standard fair for many commercial applications.

Interestely enough at this time there is no specific chapter on hybrid systems in the ASHRAE Handbooks...(under development).

I remember writing an hybrid article in 2001( I think it was for John Hall...the News??? Maybe he can find it for you.)

Hybrids address all the conditions of health and comfort which can't be addressed by a water or air only system.

Lots to consider with these systems ... stay tuned ... I have a hunch a large, well known and respected organization will be training their distribution network on hybrids in the near future.
