we have a honeywell ct87a thermostat connected to our steam system. is a change to ct3500 advisable?

Retail models
If you must use a retail model, try the CT3600. Make sure you set it up for 1 cycle per hour for your steam system. The trade models, notably the top line T8602D2018 or the mid-priced T8002C1000 have many more features like better display lighting, 7 day programming,EnergyStar ratings and optional outside temperature display plus a nicer appearance. Good maintenance on a steam system is vital, so you should have a service agreement with your local contractor, who can get & install either of the trade stats for you, plus check out your system for optimum performance. Trade models are not available thru retail stores.0
