    is the pump....

broken? Are you getting good flow to the indirect? You could only be getting gravity flow. Is the zone calling constantly? How is your water hardness? the coil could be liming up, giving no heat transfer. kpc

    Check

the delta T across the coil. A nice dual temperature meter helps, but you can do it with one gauge. Digital thermometers make it quick and easy. This will help determine if the pump is working and show the heat exchange rate in the tank.

How's the domestic water hardness. Finned coil type exchangers can plug (on the outside) rather quickly. The hotter the coil (boiler supply) the more calcium is pulled from the water, it seems

. An electric water heater element is a good example of how hardness attracts to a hot surface.

If it started out adequate and has been a slow decline my first guess would be a limed coil.

This coil went from new to "Stone Cold Steve Austin" in less than 6 months!
